Vikings Museum

In Roskilde, the ancient capital of the Vikings, they have found and restored five Viking ships from the year 900. There is a museum devoted to Viking ship-building, and a boatyard where boats are made using ancient tools and methods. One of the replica boats was sailed this past summer to Dublin and back.

On Thursday night, after an intense day of molecular biology presentations, we went to the museum, learned about the boats, and took advantage of a "photo opportunity" to become Vikings for long enough to snap a photo. We felt like we should be singing Wagner.
