Dad's battle inspires triathlete Melissa Gokey-Thomas

It's not going to be a typical reunion for the Gokey family. They'll
be together, of course, but one of them will compete in one of the most
grueling athletic events in the world.
It's because of Melissa Gokey-Thomas that family and friends will flock
to Lake Placid from around the country and the globe.
They're going to watch her compete against 2,500 other participants in
the 2005 Ford Ironman USA Triathlon on Sunday. They're going to root her
on in the longest and toughest race she's ever been in. And they're going
to support her for the other, more important, reason she's competing.
