Dr. Bratslavsky

Dr. Bratslavsky

Dr. Bratslavsky is the chairman of Urology at the State University of New York (SUNY) Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, New York. Dr. Bratslavsky knows Upstate New York well, as a graduate of Siena College and Albany Medical College. At the NCI, he directed the urology fellowship program in robotic surgery and built an enviable reputation as an investigator, charismatic teacher, devoted physician, and skillful and innovative surgeon. He represented VHL at a conference in Moscow last year. He recently published a study of the gene expression of large versus small tumors, confirming through genetic studies that significant additional genetic changes occur as the tumor gets larger and moves toward gaining metastatic potential.

Dr. Bratslavsky is joining the Medical Advisory Board of the VHL Family Alliance after spending many years on the VHL team at the U.S. National Institutes of Health, where he has made important contributions to learning about VHL. As a medical advisor he will be taking that knowledge to a new position in the field, building a team around himself that will have access to his knowledge about VHL.
