Marie Dahlstrom, M.A., resides in Portland, OR and represents De La Mano Frente Al Cancer: Latino Cancer Coalition. She is also a member of the Komen Breast Foundation National Hispanic/Latina Advisory Council and conducts research in the areas of cancer prevention, access to care and domestic violence in the Latino community.
Everett Dodson resides in Silver Spring, MD and represents Prostate NET. He is also a Clinical Research Associate at the Howard University Cancer Center where he serves as the Director of Prostate Cancer Screening.
Joyce Wilcox Graff, M.A., is a resident of Brookline, MA, and is the Executive Director of the VHL Family Alliance, a non-profit, support organization that serves more than 15,000 patients and their family members dealing with von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) disease.
Arlene Wahwasuck, B.S.N., M.N., is a resident of Horton, KS and represents the Four Tribes Women’s Wellness Coalition (FTWWC). She is also a nurse and retired U.S. Public Health Service officer.
The DCLG is NCI’s first and only all-consumer advisory body. It makes recommendations to the Director of NCI from the consumer advocate perspective on a wide variety of issues, programs, and research priorities. As a high-level advisory body, the DCLG works with NCI to help the institute increase its involvement with the cancer advocacy community. Together, NCI and the DCLG ensure that those who experience the burden of cancer also help to shape the course of NCI’s efforts. The DCLG also provides members of the cancer advocacy community with a channel to voice their opinions and concerns.
Director’s Consumer Liaison Group In-Person Meeting (10/24/07)

The NCI Director’s Consumer Liaison Group (DCLG), NCI’s all-consumer advisory committee, will hold its 46th meeting on Wednesday, October 24 and Thursday, October 25, 2007. The NCI Director, Dr. John E. Niederhuber, will update the members on NCI budget and scientific activities. NCI will give reports on legislative affairs, budget and planning, the Translational Research Working Group and the Coordinating Center for Clinical Trials. There will be a time for public comment during the meeting. The complete agenda will be posted shortly.
