Minimally Invasive Surgery for Kidney Tumors and Pheochromocytoma

Li-Ming Su, M.D.

Orlando, Florida, June 2008

Dr. Li-Ming Su of the Shands Hospital of the University of Florida spoke about his series of partial nephrectomy and adrenal surgery using robotic surgery. Robotic surgery is fast replacing both radio frequency ablation (RFA) and cryotherapy for kidney tumors because it is much more precise and does not damage adjacent tissues as RFA and cryo do.

This session was chaired by Dr. Eric Jonasch of M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston.
