Helping Children and Families deal with chronic illness

Dr. Adiaha I.A. Spinks-Franklin, M.D.

Dr. Franklin is a specialist in Developmental Behavioral Pediatrics. She works with children with a wide spectrum of issues including developmental delay and behavioral issues. She helps to ensure that all possible underlying physical causes are addressed or ruled out before focusing on behavioral issues.

The families in the audience are dealing with von Hippel-Lindau disease, but Dr. Franklin's remarks address many conditions, including grief and anxiety over the illness of a parent or sibling.
